Career DescriptionJob Description

The Independent Market Availability Manager is a field-focused role with responsibility for monitoring, maintaining and improving market availability. The MA Manager supports availability in the market for new stores, changeovers, and existing independently owned stores through cross-functional collaboration. The MA Manager will partner with Inventory Replenishment, Store Planning and Design, Visual Merchandising, Store set-up and Distribution Centers but most closely with independent leadership, up to and including the Independent President. The MA Manager will serve as a field liaison on availability-related concerns and works with field leadership to establish strategies to improve our inventory availability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Assortment Management

Determine, monitor, maintain, and adjust in-market availability. Identify availability tactics with the field leadership team to combat intrusion, market nuances and/or changes in regional dynamics.

Monitor and advise partners of logistical opportunities both internal and external to ensure consistent product flow of merchandise inventories to stores/DCs. Collaborate with teams across the organization including Visual Merchandise, Operations, Real Estate, Supply Chain, and Merch Analytics to maximize market mix and product availability.

Develop processes and procedures along with assessing human resource needs, to ensure execution of company policies relative to the inventory levels and replenishment functions of the company.

Work with the management team to ensure that the forecasting process is appropriate to support the Advance supply chain; manage the exception process within the business parameters to achieve the business objectives and strategies.

Manage and monitor the replenishment process to support the store/distribution networks; work with the management team to establish correct guidelines for managing the order exceptions within the business parameters to achieve the business objectives.

Cultivate frequent internal contacts and communications with the Inventory Management, Directors and various departments, including but not limited to Merchandising, Merchandise Presentations, Marketing, Distribution and Store Operations.

Financial Management

Understand, effectively communicate and advise business partners on the financial impact of decisions related to assortment for changeovers and new stores

Drive appropriate actions by business partners and track the resulting progress. Includes identifying future opportunities.

Communication / Collaborative Relationships

Maintain collaborative partnerships with Independent Leadership and numerous Cross-Functional Management teams

Cultivate relationships with Independent owners and support teams, Distribution Center leadership, Visual Merchandising, Space Planning & Design, project managers, and inventory teams through active involvement in project decisions.

Communicate directly with Account Executives, Sales Directors, and Independent support leadership responding to opportunities as appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS

Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to effectively present information and interact effectively across all levels of the organization; proven ability to cultivate relationships with key stakeholders across functions to achieve business/brand objectives and drive process improvement; experience in leading complex cross-functional teams.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Software , and job-specific computer programs including SQL, Oracle, Business Intelligence platforms.

Solid analytical skills required; ability to develop and communicate findings and recommendations, creating actionable strategies.

Strong attention to detail, planning, and organizational skills. Project management experience is a plus.

Ability to operate in a complex, rapidly changing environment while adhering to tight schedules.

Ability to prioritize, delegate, and manage multiple projects simultaneously ensuring timely and accurate completion of each; outcome-focused and experienced in project management as a means to plan, track, communicate progress and ensure on time delivery of projects.

Foundational understanding of the supply chain; ability to see the organization as an integrated whole and comprehend how each component contributes to the achievement of organizational goals and objectives.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelors degree in Business, Mathematics or similar field and 5-7 years experience in Replenishment Inventory Management. At least 2-4 years of direct retail experience in a responsible management position and 2-4 years leadership management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position directly supervises 3-5 Senior Analysts and/or Analysts.
