Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities

What Were Looking For:

If you have IT Security certifications or CCSA certified and have 5+ years experience Enterprise grade Firewalls, Windows, UNIX and 3+ years experience with incident response and incident handling, then you will be excited about the IT Security Administrator III position with Iridium on the Information Technology team.  As an IT Security Administrator III, youll lead the overall administration, maintenance, and architecture of the Iridium IT Security infrastructure and systems at all corporate facilities. In this role, you will focus primarily on working with IT Systems and service administrators to provide highly available and reliable systems to support Iridium employees and business departments. You will thrive/succeed in this role if you have strong communication skills with the ability to critically think to solve problems.

 

What Youll Do:

Responsible for providing day-to-day support and maintenance for all Security hardware, service requests and applications

Ensure proper backup processes are in place to allow for full recovery of security infrastructure

Interact with outside vendors tasked with providing or augmenting Iridium security

Coordinate system updates with administrators to ensure security vulnerabilities and risk remain as low as possible

Provide monthly KPI metrics and trending reports

Work with other teams to promote changes to production and other environments

Play a role in maintaining existing IT security elements; implement upgrades, replacement and new equipment as directed

Experience & Education Requirements / EEO

What Youll Need to Succeed:

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science/MIS or related field

Security certifications or Checkpoint Certified Security Administrator required

5+ years of experience in both Windows and UNIX environments; ability to troubleshoot network connectivity issues at both an application and desktop OS level

5+ years of experience with Checkpoint Firewalls or similar security systems with expert knowledge of network security applications, tools, and methodologies

Deep understanding of IT operational policies and procedures within all IT Core disciplines

Strong communication skills, with the ability to confidently present technical information to groups outside of your team or those who are unfamiliar with the topic

Possess an analytical mindset, with the ability to understand a situation or problem and think critically to make decisions or come up with solutions

Be comfortable managing upward, including being a proactive communicator and asking for help when needed

Have confidence and be able to establish valuable relationships with others

Must be able to prioritize key tasks and have a strong sense of ownership over your work

Be active in seeking out ways to continuously improve yourself and gain new knowledge

Ability to drive Security projects to completion

Ability to multitask and excel in a fast-paced 24/7 environment

Must be able to work well under pressure

Things That Would be Great if You Brought to the Table:

Advanced PowerShell, Python, BASH scripting skills

Experience in a telecommunications environment

Well also need you to :

Be on call

Be able to travel up to 10%

US citizenship required
