This is an opportunity for a strong software engineer to join a dynamic agile team that owns and develops a private cloud-based platform, Gaia . This role also allows for flexible working arrangements.

Our product forms a crucial component of our industry leading development environment and faces an ever-increasing demand as our technology organization continues to grow and JP Morgan develops an increasingly diverse range of modern digital products. A key objective of the successful candidate is to expand the existing platform from JPMC's private cloud into other public cloud providers.

Key Responsibilities of the Role

Enablement of private cloud for our application workloads is a priority activity for JPMC and as a Software Engineer you will play an important role in the design and development of the foundation public cloud platform and control plane that covers provisioning, identity, networking and integration into firm-wide services. You will bring your past experience to a talented group to further evolve the technical capabilities of our organization, drive improvements across our SDLC and unlock new cloud capabilities for our clients.

All roles in Platform Services are expected to continuously collaborate across all cloud product offerings.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Experience in at least one programming language, preferably Python including data interchange format, ex. JSON / XML

Experience in Django Rest Framework, Ansible, JavaScript, CI/CD pipeline, Rest APIs, React JS, Celery

Experience working in Microsoft SQL Server or any other RDBMS

Ability to dive into complex problems to troubleshoot and implement functional solutions

Provide technical expertise throughout the software lifecycle including design, implementation, and delivery

Understanding cloud, virtualization, APIs, and modern software languages

Experience with developing frameworks that help increase developer efficiency, release velocity, code health and technical standards

Advanced experience working with two or more from the following: database, unix/linux environments, large scale software development, security software development

Understanding or have experience with agile and lean philosophies

Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Excellent written and verbal communication

Ability to collaborate with different roles to achieve common goals

Experience with Git or other VCS

Experience with standard CI/CD tools including Jenkins/Bamboo/TeamCity and Spinnaker is advantageous

Understanding and experience of decoupling/microservice patterns is advantageous

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with CI/CD automation preferably including Jenkins, Bamboo and/or Spinnaker

Understand cloud native design principals, recognize opportunities to leverage native services to meet our goals
