Federal Data Systems is looking for a Systems Administer to troubleshoot, configure and install operating systems for our customer in Washington, DC.

Administer, develop, test, or demonstrate databases.

Perform many related database functions across one or more teams or clients, including designing, implementing and maintaining new databases, backup/recovery and configuration management.

Install database management systems and provide input for modification of procedures and documentation used for problem resolution and day-to-day maintenance.

May develop, run tests on, implement, or maintain operating system and related software.

Establish and implement standards for computer operations for compatibility between hardware and software, according to specifications and parameters.

Troubleshoots and/or resolves software, operating system, and networking problems.

Schedules, performs, or monitors system backups and, when necessary, performs data recoveries.

Due to the nature of this position and the information that employees will be required to access; U.S. Citizenship is required.

Required Security Clearance: Top Secret Clearance.

Bachelors degree in IT or related field from an accredited university/college.

Level 1:

Must have 2-3 years of experience in troubleshooting, installing and configuring operating systems.

Level 2:

Must have 3-5 years of experience in troubleshooting, installing and configuring operating systems.

Working Conditions:

Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are normally set from Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, however some extended or weekend hours may be required. Additional details on the precise hours will be informed to the candidate from the Program Manager/Hiring Manager.

Physical Requirements:

May be required to lift and carry items weighting up to 25 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching and bending throughout the workday.

Background Screening/Check/Investigation:

Successful Completion of a Background Screening/Check/Investigation will be required as a condition of hire.
