Receiving Associate I
We are currently recruiting for a Receiving Associate I to join the Benchmade Knife Company team. The Receiving Associate I is responsible for verifying counts of incoming and outgoing materials, receiving purchase orders, distributing product and paperwork to required departments, and moving parts to appropriate work centers. This role requires a high attention to detail and strong team player.
Job Responsibilities:
Receives and unloads incoming materials and compares information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment
Inspects shipments for damages or defects; records discrepancies or damages and notifies supervisor and/or purchasing personnel.
Distributes product and paperwork to the required departments
Moves parts to appropriate work centers and building
Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock; recording location of inventory.
Operate lift trucks, pallet jacks, and other equipment to safely move parts to proper locations
Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections; making operator repairs.
Verifies counts of outgoing materials for sub-contractor operations.
Dispatches courier servicers to deliver/pick-up parts
Work with accounting/procurement to fix receiving errors
Collaborate with procurement staff to list expected deliveries
Participates in improvement projects to continuously raise performance within the function
Support the on-going reporting of key performance metrics
Executes housekeeping duties.
Provides excellent service to customers
Qualifications:
A High School Diploma or GED equivalent, and 3-4 years of shipping, receiving, or warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment is required. Equivalency to the qualification standard will also be considered.
Forklift certification preferred
Basic understanding of inventory controls and cycle counting
Strong computer skills
Familiarity with MRP systems and performing inventory transactions
Good verbal and written communication skills, with co-workers and vendors.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Must demonstrate good attendance and punctuality.
Quality-conscious individual with excellent attention to detail
Ability to multi-task accurately
Works well in a collaborative and positive team environment
Demonstrate great attendance and punctuality.
Able to work in a manufacturing environment wearing required PPE
