Overview

Under the supervision of the Associate Medical Director & Clinic Administrator, provide medical services to clients, ensuring appropriate and professional medical services. Manages assigned patient panel

Responsibilities

Performs patient physicals.

Provides medical services to clients.

 Provides patient counseling services.

Refers clients to Physician for further psychiatric or physical evaluation when warranted.

Maintains complete medical records on all assigned patients.

Assists the medical staff in the formulation of treatment planning.

Supervises and assists in referral of clients to other agencies or clinics for medical services.

Carries out all routine and special assignments as directed by Chief Medical Officer or Lead Physician

Participates in AltaMed on-call schedule.

Participates in performance improvement activities.

Works with Site Lead Physician and Clinic Administrator to meet efficiency, patient satisfaction, and productivity goals.

Follows clinical guidelines.

Follows proper documentation procedures and all applicable policies and procedures.

Infection Control and Safety.

Works collaboratively with support staff, providing clear expectations.

Active participation in the Quality Management Program, Utilization Review, Peer Review, AltaMed Medical Provider activities, and AltaMed's On-call schedule.

Works with leadership on any performance or facility issues.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree plus graduation from an accredited PA programs in the United States required.

Licensure by the State of California as a Physician Assistant.

1-2 years Physicians Assistant experience in community health setting preferred. Will consider new graduate.

Current Valid CPR Certification.

Previous experience with computer based systems required; Electronic Medical records experience preferred
