Rancho Biosciences is seeking a remote software developer to modify existing and build new solutions to support scientific data and information storage, access, and visualization.

We are a Data Curation company working with some of the most renowned pharmaceutical companies in the world. Our team of curators, computational biologists, data scientists, and software developers are located throughout the country. We support talented people living where they choose, working collaboratively together on projects that have a real impact on human health.

Responsibilities:

  • Modify existing and build new applications to support scientific data
  • Develop data management solutions
  • Develop reporting templates for scientific data
  • Integrate platforms to reporting databases
  • Develop, and optimize pipelines and frameworks
  • Create back-end components to process data
  • Deploy frameworks using Docker technology
  • Build RESTful Services
  • Write unit tests for different applications

    Desired Experience:

  • 3+ years experience in a developer role with similar experience
  • Bachelors degree in computer science or similar field
  • Experience in Life Sciences is preferred
  • Fluency in all aspects of pipeline development
  • Experience with agile development process
  • Expertise in object-oriented programming
  • Expertise on back-end development with Python and/or Java
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL Databases
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes
  • Experience with Version Control, build automation and CI/CD tools
  • Experience with object-relational-mapping like Hibernate a plus
  • Experience in Javascript framework such as Angular and/or REACT

    Desired Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated experience with teamwork and collaboration amongst multiple teams
  • Must understand sense of urgency and have prioritization skills
  • Experience in a fast-paced, growing organization
  • Must be flexible and willing to change with quick turnarounds
