REQUIRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s Degree in mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or equivalent experience.
Three years of experience in data analysis and/or business intelligence.
Technical expertise related to database design development, data models, and segmentation techniques.
Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages, databases, programming, and file formats.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to gather, organize, analyze, and disseminate information in an accurate, detailed manner.

PREFERRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

Focused experience in the financial industry
Marketing Information Systems experience
Microsoft Power BI and MSSQL experience

SUMMARY:

The Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for executing the company’s data strategy. Working with business leaders across the organization, this position will transform data into information and visual depictions that will drive sound business decisions and influence the growth and strategic efforts of the organization. This role will also be responsible for driving organization-wide data management initiatives .

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Collaborates with executive management and business leaders across the organization to fulfill data needs that drive strategic and non-strategic initiatives, including:

The design of dashboards, visualizations, reports, and data feeds that support the operational, strategic, executive, and board-level functions of the organization.

Performs qualitative, quantitative, and statistical analysis to help solve routine and complex business questions.

Collaborates with all business units to identify and measure relevant metrics and KPIs that demonstrate business unit performance.

Produces key insights into member, account, and product adoption, utilization, and profitability.

Performs market research and analysis to identify strategies that influence product/service improvement and other strategic and tactical initiatives, with the objective of driving preferred member growth and helping the organization achieve overall growth goals.

Builds data models that help improve efficiency and overall financial and business operations.

Assists business leaders in developing business cases for new project initiatives across the company.

Administrates various business intelligence platforms and tools, including the marketing information system and enterprise data warehouse.

Ensures that the company complies with data governance and security obligations. Sits as a member of the Data Governance Committee to set strategic direction for the usage and management of data within and outside the company.

Maintains deep, complex knowledge of data structure and the interaction of data across multiple systems of record, including the Core System and ancillary applications and platforms.

Identifies and reports industry trends, solutions and technology related to data management and data analytics.

Manages key vendor relationships related to the data and business intelligence functions of the organization. Influences the decision and selection of new data systems and tools as technology changes. Manages the implementation of these solutions.

Partners with IT, business operations, the branch network, and other Business Intelligence staff to complete projects on time and within the budget set for each project.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:

Maintains strict confidentiality of records and information. Uses diplomacy and tact in dealing with persons from outside and inside the organization. Must be professional in actions and appearance, organized and dependable. Regular, predictable attendance is required.

Responsible to keep the following confidential as it pertains to SCU, member and employee information and is defined as the following:

Financial record information, which includes but is not limited to the information contained in a document granting signature authority over an account, a statement, ledger card or other record on any account which shows each transaction in or with respect to that account, a check, draft or money order drawn on a financial institution or other entity or issued and payable by or through a financial institution or other entity or other item containing information pertaining to any relationship established in the ordinary course of business between SCU and its members;

SCU business information, such as member lists, pricing, purchasing activity, business strategies or techniques, operational data, marketing materials and methods used to develop and maintain member relations.
WORK SCHEDULE:
Full Time Position – Monday through Friday, normal business hours.
Overtime and evening hours as needed.

LOCATION:
Edwardsville, IL Headquarters, Business Intelligence department; However, work location may change according to SCU staffing needs.
