POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Materials Resource Utilization Coordinator and according to department policies, procedures, and standards, prepares for scheduled operations by acquisition and coordination of tissues. Ensures provision of high quality customer service and accurate documentation of acquisition process and distribution to point of service. Receives, tracks and returns tissues to vendors as necessary. Ensures billing process is complete. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served . Additional duties may include but are not limited to; analyze spreadsheet data, run queries, utilize ERP system for data input and upkeep, approve invoices for payment, approve orders, order/receive supplies, research substitute products, contact sales representatives for resolution of issues.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: The job incumbent is required to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to order, receive, track, and maintain tissue according to Joint Commission requirements. - Work requires the ability to read and write in order to interpret schedule and prepare for operative procedures, knowledge of basic anatomy, physiology and medical terminology. - Work requires approximately one to three months on the job experience necessary in order to acquire necessary familiarity with surgeons' preferences, be able to accurately identify large volumes of surgical tissues and supplies, and gain knowledge of unit policies and procedures. - Work requires computer experience: common software applications, such as Word, Excel, common trouble shooting skills, and Internet knowledge. Interpersonal skills necessary in order to interact with vendors, surgeons and other healthcare personnel. - Analytical skills necessary in order to organize and prepare supplies.
