Who we are

The Cybersecurity Research Groupdesigns, develops, and deliversinnovativeresearchsolutions to advance enterprise network security and to a lesser degree cyber-physical security. Importantly, many projects either evaluate or develop tools for security professionals and applications of data science for cybersecurity. Projects frequently involve collaboration across scientific disciplines and result in publications, prototypes, and technology transfer to both government and commercial uses. Recent examples: the development of a machine-learning-driven solution for network and user emulation that creates realistic experimental environments for network security tools; a study of analysts to inform mathematical simulations of security operators; and the creation of cyber-defensive tools for vehicular controller area networks .

We're looking for an innovative thinker to design and implement solutions through software and/or hardware engineering. In this role, you collaborate with other developers and researchers to design computer applications and programs. Part of these responsibilities include writing and debugging code, so we are looking for applicants with fluency in Python and C++.

All CYR members will contribute to a team environment with a culture of continued learning. The ideal researcher will be self-disciplined, have a strong work ethic, and eagerness to tackle challenging problems. The researcher will, with mentorship of more senior staff, take responsibility for subtasks requiringinnovative solutions that support the team's R&D projects-testing or designing advanced solutions to enhance cybersecurity.
