About the Part-Time Help Desk Technician Intern:
Marketstar IT team currently has an opportunity available for a Help Desk Technician in Ogden, UT 20 to 30 hours per week.
The Part-Time Help Desk Technician Intern needs to work well in a team setting and motivated to get task done quickly and effectively with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the Helpdesk equipment room and the logistics of issuing hardware to new hires, and recovering equipment also. He/she will work effectively with end-users and clients to provide timely solutions to service issues and requests in a courteous manner.
What will you do?
Track, log, and trend issue resolution using Helpdesk ticketing system
Image machines for new-hires and transfers
Shipping and receiving hardware from and to end-users
Repair and troubleshoot hardware and network connectivity issues
Remove old equipment and perform data migration to new machines
Manage inventory and track assets
All other duties as assigned by IT management or the Support manager
Skills & Qualifications:
Pursuing IT Help Desk certifications such as
Working knowledge of current Windows OSs and Microsoft Office Suites preferred
Knowledge of TCP/IP, wireless networks, LAN, WAN, virus protection, email functionality preferred
Interest in learning active directory, file servers, and tape backups
Self-motivated with the ability to follow through on projects in a timely manner
Professional demeanor; good customer service skills in person and on the phone
Excellent verbal, writing, and technical writing skill
Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
Must be able to sit in front of and operate a computer for prolonged periods of time.
