Job Summary:
The Medical Director for the Masters in Physician Assistant Studies program will serve under the Program Director of the Physician Assistant Program to assure that all didactic education and supervised clinical experiences meet the current standards of medical practice and assure the highest levels of educational quality. The Medical Director will also serve as an advocate for the program and a liaison to the medical community within the state and region, helping to facilitate the development of relationships for clinical placements, faculty recruitment and program growth. Additionally, the medical director will work with the Program Director, Dean and other members of the academic leadership at the University to assess the program and implement plans for continuous quality improvement across the curriculum. This position is a 0.33 FTE position at the rank of Clinical Associate Professor or above, and reports to the Program Director.
Required Qualifications:
An M.D. from an LCME or AOA accredited institution
Licensure as a physician within the state of New Jersey
Current Board certification
Experience within physician assistant education
Knowledge of the physician assistant program accreditation process and familiarity with the details of experiential education and site establishment within the healthcare community.
Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
